I make an effort to practice relationship-centered, evidence-informed care in every patient encounter. That means that I try to make a connection with each patient. I try to understand what specifically brought them into my office. I then provide them with the medical facts that can help us come to a shared decision about what to do. I try to engage my patients to participate in their health decisions and to motivate them to make changes to their lifestyle that will make them healthier. I try to use as few medications as possible, especially when dietary changes or regular exercise are possible solutions.
