Skills Nursing requires a dedication to learning. It is a transitional profession; both humanistic and scientific in nature. Both aspects have required that I stay current in the pathophysiology, chemistry, biology, environmental factors, government regulations, technological changes (including electronic health records), cultural factors and implications, and last but not least, the caring and nurturing of the patient to fullest recovery while in my care. Emergency room nursing is all inclusive of every nursing discipline. The additional skills I have are in accordance to American Heart Association guidelines for BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP.
