A person with multiple medical conditions and unresolved symptoms cannot be treated effectively in a 15 minute visit with a physician. So I spend as long as it takes to get the whole picture of what he or she is experiencing. The patient and I then work closely together to design a plan to make them feel as well as is possible, in a way that fits with the demands of his or her lifestyle and preferences. I care very much about how my patients feel, and they know it. It's like family.
