Filed:
May 31, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/585252
Inventors:
Ores Paul Seaux - Carencro LA
Kenneth P. Seaux - Church Point LA
Donald S. Rogers - Lafayette LA
Assignee:
OLS Consulting Services, Inc. - Lafayette LA
International Classification:
B29C 3902
US Classification:
264259, 249176, 264299, 264319
Abstract:
A mold apparatus and method for manufacturing panels having, as desired, one or more areas of reduced material comprising a facing sheet and integrally attached cell forming walls extending in roughly perpendicular fashion from the facing sheet. Additionally, a method for molding panels, including large scale panels, from thermoplastic resins and other moldable materials requiring significantly less energy than other known molding methods, and providing for panels having one or more areas exhibiting continuous outer surfaces on all dimensions. A lower negative mold member has a plurality of upwardly facing positive standoffs defining interstitial channels into which thermoplastic resin or other moldable material is filled. A generally planar upper mold member is placed on the lower mold, and the combined mold assembly is then subjected to elevated heat and pressure, allowing said thermoplastic resin or other moldable material to melt within the interstitial spaces of the lower mold member. After cooling, upper and lower mold members are separated, and a molded panel structure is removed therefrom.

Filed:
Nov 5, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/435166
Inventors:
Donald Scott Rogers - Lafayette LA
Assignee:
Soloco, L.L.C. - Lafayette LA
International Classification:
F16K 5102, F04F 300
US Classification:

Apparatus And Method For Measuring Particulate Flow Rate

US Patent:
7369230, May 6, 2008
Filed:
Apr 30, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/837083
Inventors:
Donald Scott Rogers - Lafayette LA, US
International Classification:
G01N 21/00, G01F 1/00
US Classification:
356337, 73861
Abstract:
An apparatus for measuring the rate of flow of a volume of particulate material comprising a transparent tube of known cross-sectional area, means for supplying a flow of particulate material through the transparent tube, and an optical signal sensor for receiving an optical signal through the wall of the transparent tube from the flow of particulate material. The received optical signal is delivered to a controller for analyzing and determining the relative movement of the flow of particulate material at the wall of the tube and calculating the rate of volume flow through the tube. These observations may be used to control upstream and downstream system processes and equipment.

Abstract:
A matting system comprised of an assembly of discrete, individual small mat segments connected by pre-tensioned cable elements. The mat segments are configured to displace at the connecting surfaces of the mat segments at a predetermined load. The pre-tensioned cable elements holding the mat segments together are elastic through a reasonable displacement range so that the mat segments of the matting system will reassemble after the applied load is removed.

Mat Lock Pin

US Patent:
8388291, Mar 5, 2013
Filed:
May 18, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/781968
Inventors:
Donald Scott Rogers - Lafayette LA, US
International Classification:
F16B 21/02
US Classification:
411349, 24453
Abstract:
A mat lock pin for releasably holding together overlapping mats has an outer body and a rotor rotatably held within the outer body. The outer body is sized and shaped so as to snugly fit within aligned holes in overlapping mats, and is shaped so as to be non-rotational within the holes. The rotor has a central stem and a foot at each end. When the mat lock pin is in place extending through holes in overlapping mats, the rotor feet are at the outermost surfaces of the mats. Rotation of the rotor brings angled surfaces on the rotor feet to bear against the outermost mat surfaces, generating an axial force forcing the mats together. The axial forces forcing the mats together are carried by the rotor, permitting the outer body to be made of relatively low strength, and low cost, material.
