Abstract:
A truck in the nature of an automotive vehicle for carrying and moving heavy loads, bulky articles, freight, etc. , has a wheeled front section which includes a cab and an engine compartment and a wheeled rear section which includes a cargo-receiving bed. The two sections are articulated to permit raising of the truck at the articulation or joint between the sections, causing the front section to slope downwardly and forwardly from the joint and the rear section to slope downwardly and rearwardly from the joint, resulting in the bed being positioned in a small angle of inclination relative to the plane of the surface which supports the truck such as to facilitate loading and unloading. The bed is reciprocable fore and aft of the rear section by use of hydraulic power means for placing its rear ramp against such surface, and a linkage system, also hydraulically powered, effects the tilting operation.

Abstract:
A multi-station, gantry-based automated welding system includes a gantry mounting robotic arc welders or other equipment. The gantry has a range of travel over multiple workstations, each workstation being adapted for rotatably mounting a respective workpiece. A control system controls and coordinates the movements and operation of the gantry, the robotic arc welders and the workpiece-rotating motors located at the workstations. Encoders are installed at the moving elements of the system for precisely tracking and providing output to the computer controller. Primary and secondary power/data distribution systems include cable and hose carriers for providing mobile power/data connections to the gantry and also to the robotic arc welders mounted thereon. The power/data distribution systems are elevated above a facility floor to avoid interfering with equipment, personnel and activities at floor level.

Abstract:
A hydraulic steering actuator system for a forklift with front and rear sections includes a hydraulic steering motor. The forklift front section includes a mast mounting a pair of fork blades and a pair of wheels. The forklift rear section mounts a pair of drive wheels. The forklift front and rear sections are connected by an articulated connection with a vertical rotational axis. The steering actuator motor driveshaft extends generally along the vertical rotational axis. First and second actuator mounting brackets are connected to the forklift front and rear sections respectively. One of the mounting brackets includes upper and lower locking assemblies locking the hydraulic steering motor driveshaft whereby torque applied to the steering motor is transmitted to the articulated connection for turning the forklift front section relative to the forklift rear section. The range of motion is preferably 180°-205° for accommodating side-loading operations from relatively high storage shelves, e. g. in narrow-aisle warehouses.

Abstract:
A tillage implement which has both deep tillage subsoil shanks at the rear of the machine and relatively shallow running, residue cutting and topsoil mixing discs at the front of the machine provides for expeditious depth adjustment of the discs through spacer blocks that may be inserted between the underside of the frame of the implement and the tops of the gang beams. The blocks are designed to be clamped in position beside pivot bolts and angle retaining bolts of the gangs such that the blocks may be inserted or removed by merely loosening the bolts instead of completely removing the same and without interfering with the ability of the gangs to be angle adjusted fore-and-aft. The configuration of the blocks is such that they may be stacked one upon the other to provide an increased range of depth adjustment without sacrificing rigidity of construction.

A folding planter includes a frame formed by first and second frame members supported for relative, longitudinal shifting movement, a primary fluid-actuated piston and cylinder assembly for shifting the first and second frame members between retracted and extended positions, and a pair of planter assemblies each supported on the second frame member for pivotal movement about a vertical pivot axis between an extended planting position and a retracted transport position. Each planter assembly includes a tool bar that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis of the frame in the planting position and parallel to the frame in the transport position, and a plurality of planting units supported on the tool bar. A pair of elongated trusses are connected between the first frame member and the planter assemblies. Each truss presents opposed ends supported for pivotal movement relative to the first frame member and one of the planter assemblies to permit the planter assembly to be moved between the planting and transport positions upon actuation of the primary piston and cylinder assembly.

Abstract:
A self-loading trailer has a flat deck that can be raised and lowered between a horizontal transport position and a downwardly and rearwardly inclined loading position. A pair of winches adjacent the front end of the deck are normally maintained in a stowed position slightly inboard from opposite sides from the deck but can be shifted outwardly into extended positions outboard of the lateral confines of the deck. In such extended positions, the winches may be used to draw a first container up onto the deck as the inclined deck is moved rearwardly under the container, and then a second container behind the first container, without interfering with the first container. When both containers are fully loaded, the winches are retracted back into their stored positions.

The working depth of obliquely angled disc gangs on the implement can be readily adjusted from the tractor seat with a single hydraulic cylinder through the use of mechanical linkage that couples the hydraulic cylinder with all of the disc gangs for simultaneous movement. Special pivots that join the gangs to the main frame permit the gangs to be manually angled adjusted without affecting depth, and vice-versa, while quick-release locks securely hold the gangs in their selected angular positions yet permit rapid adjustment.

A tiltable trailer is provided with longitudinal beams spaced such as to be located directly beneath the wheels of equipment to be hauled thereby, eliminating the need for heavy cross pieces beneath the deck for the supporting wide loads, thereby contributing toward decreased trailer weight. A lower deck height is accomplished by having the tracks for the rollers of the reciprocable undercarriage and the ramps of such tracks located within the beams, by positioning the undercarriage between the beams and by providing the undercarriage with a low-profile beam support which, in turn, has roller-mounting cross members immediately ahead of and immediately behind the wheel and axle assemblies.
