Philosophy:
The most effective vehicle for positive change is the close relationship between client and therapist. The focus is partially on current issues and contributiions to problems by traumatic past experiences.Psychological problems arise in the context of relationships and the examinatiion of relationships in a safe and secure therapy setting is often crucial to internal change The therapy is interpersonal there by making issues of empathy and intimacy available for attention. For positive change it is of utmost importance to establish a sense of trust. I have better than 45 years of clinical experience though I have no plans for retirement. I was on the staff of The Menninger Clinic for 34 years and at the time of my departure for private practice I served as Director of the Psyghology Department. I am trained as a psychoanalyst and currently I am involved as a training and supervising analyst in the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute.
