Philosophy:
Originally from Zanesville, Ohio, Dr. Donald A. Urban graduated from Denison University and the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, and completed surgery and urology residency training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Dr. Urban started in private practice in Knoxville, Tenn. in 1988, and in 1992 he joined the faculty at the University of Alabama, School of Medicine in the Department of Surgery, Division of Urology in Birmingham. Prior to joining FWU, Dr. Urban achieved the rank of associate professor and taught medical students and urology residents. He was active in clinical research and has publications about prostate cancer prevention and treatment. He also completed additional training in laparoscopic surgery at Washington University in St. Louis.
Dr. Urban is board certified in urology, he is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and is also a member of the Society of Urologic Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Urban has expertise in urologic oncology with a focus on prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancers. Dr. Urban brings to Fort Wayne his extensive surgical experience in Davinci Robotic prostatectomy and laparoscopic kidney surgery.
Dr. Urban lives in Fort Wayne. He has two daughters.
