Hand Releasable Locking Collar

US Patent:
5108066, Apr 28, 1992
Filed:
Apr 13, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/508552
Inventors:
Donald A. Lundstrom - Worcester MA
International Classification:
A44B 2100, F16M 1100
US Classification:
248410
Abstract:
A hand releasable locking collar to secure objects or itself in a desired location on a shaft, bar or the like. The device comprises a housing, end cap, preload spring and clutch plate conformed to the shaft. The clutch plate is rotatably assembled within the device such that said device is free to move axially on the shaft when the clutch plate is positioned perpendicular to the axis of the shaft. When released, said clutch plate allows further tightening of the device by moving axially in the direction installed, but locks positively to prevent removal or movement in the opposite direction unless such clutch plate is again moved to the position of perpendicularity with the axis of the shaft.

Computer Keyboard Tray

US Patent:
6152411, Nov 28, 2000
Filed:
Mar 10, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/266099
Inventors:
Donald A. Lundstrom - Worcester MA
Assignee:
ModuForm, Inc. - Fitchburg MA
International Classification:
E04G 300
US Classification:
2482911
Abstract:
A keyboard tray assembly includes a tray having a front end and a bottom wall with an upper surface. A front wall is rotatably secured to the front end of the tray by a first hinge. The front wall is rotatable between an up position and a down position. The first hinge has first and second hinge members which are rotatably coupled together about a pivot point. The first hinge member is secured to the tray and the second hinge member is secured to the front wall. The first hinge is shaped to position the pivot point adjacent to the front end of the tray below the upper surface of the bottom wall and within a first recess in the front wall. This allows the front wall to pivot in close relationship to the front end of the tray.

Hand Releasable Locking Collar

US Patent:
5224681, Jul 6, 1993
Filed:
Apr 27, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/874672
Inventors:
Donald A. Lundstrom - Worcester MA
International Classification:
A44B 2100, F16M 1100
US Classification:
248410
Abstract:
A device for releasably gripping a shaft has a body with a central channel for receiving the shaft. The device also has an arrangement, mounted to the body, for gripping and releasing the shaft when a member of the arrangement, is respectively in first and second positions with respect to the body. A sleeve is disposed concentrically outside of the body, and is mounted for axial movement with respect to the body in such a manner as to cause axial movement of the member, so axial movement of the sleeve in a first direction will achieve release of the shaft. In this manner, one may grip the sleeve and, in a single motion, achieve release of the shaft and slide the device relative to the shaft.
