Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for analyzing an electronic medical record (EMR) are provided. The method includes assigning to at least one document in the EMR, a first value, wherein the assigning is based, at least in part, on a number of characters and/or a number of digits included in each document of the at least one document, determining a second value, wherein the second value is determined based, at least in part, on the first values, determining whether the second value is above a threshold value, and outputting an indication that the second value is above the threshold value. The second value may be used for applications including, but not limited to, determining a risk of a patient associated with the EMR having an adverse event, being readmitted to a hospital, or being transferred to an intensive care unit, facilitating workload balancing, and providing documentation to a payer of healthcare services.

Abstract:
A medical scavenger suction device includes a tubing assembly having a primary tube and two or more auxiliary tube members. The tubing assembly may be integrally formed within an endotracheal tube sidewall or formed integrally with a mouth gag device. The tubing assembly is adapted to connect to standard wall suction tubing to enable the exhausting of gas and/or smoke from the surgical area.
