Philosophy:
As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Mathias has advanced training to perform a wide range of interventional cardiology procedures. These minimally invasive procedures include stent implantation and angioplasty, which typically require shorter hospital stays and recovery times, when compared with traditional cardiac or bypass surgery.**
Before joining Aurora Health Care in 2004, Dr. Mathias maintained a private medical practice in Milwaukee. He previously served as co-director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, along with holding academic appointments at Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Mathias has been actively involved in clinical research throughout his medical career. He has had the results of his cardiac research published in many professional journals.**
Dr. Mathias is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in interventional cardiology.**
