Description:
David Newman was born and raised in Reno and has always had an interest in history and particularly Reno history. David loves to do restoration work and renovations combining old architecture and modern technology. On his 5 Creek place property, built in 1903/04 he started with what would basically be considered a tear down and rebuilt it from the ground up with every modern amenity. He started by gutting the house and stripping all the lathe and plaster and removing all of the original knob and tube wiring and basically opening the house up to let it breath and simply let the house dictate what it wanted to be. Updated with radiant heated floors, modern electrical, plumbing and mechanical, including a full alarm system and security cameras covering the entire property. The attic was reclaimed as a large master bedroom freeing up the living room to be a spacious entertainment area. The basement was also reclaimed and finished for another wonderful living area. The house was finished out with a special kynar coated heavy gauge corrugated metal siding for easy maintenance and a unique historic look. David would love to see more old houses saved from the wrecking ball and instead revitalized. It can be a truly special and rewarding experience for both the owner and the community.
