Abstract:
Superconductor containing filaments having embedments of superconducting material surrounded by a rayon matrix are formed by preparing a liquid suspension which contains at least 10 weight percent superconducting material; forming a multicomponent filament having a core of the suspension and a viscose sheath which contains cellulose xanthate; and thereafter, regenerating cellulose from the cellulose xanthate to form a rayon matrix.

Energy Efficient Apparatus For Removing Emissions

Energy Efficient Apparatus For Removing Emissions

US Patent:
5433761, Jul 18, 1995
Filed:
Nov 29, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/166393
Inventors:
Beth O. Teague - Asheville NC
David F. Mitchell - Asheville NC
Joseph T. Flack - Candler NC
Dennis G. Shealy - Fletcher NC
Assignee:
BASF Corporation - Mt. Olive NJ
International Classification:
B03C 3014
US Classification:
55267
Abstract:
Disclosed is an apparatus for removing emissions, originated in the manufacturing industry, especially from polymerization operations and thermoplastic polymer processing operations which has a plurality of ducts, an entrance for collecting air, containing the emissions and an exit for exiting exhaust air, a first heat exchanger which has a hot side with an entrance and an exit and a cold side with an entrance and an exit, a second heat exchanger, which has a hot side with an entrance and an exit and a cold side, a liquid removal system, and a fan, whereby the first heat exchanger is connected with the entrance of the hot side to the entrance of the duct system and with the exit of the hot side to the entrance of the hot side of the second heat exchanger by a duct; the exit of the hot side of the second heat exchanger is connected to the entrance of the cool side of the first heat exchanger by a duct; the precipitator is connected to the exit of the cool side of the first heat exchanger by a duct and to the fan by a duct, the fan is connected to the exit of the duct system.
