The present invention provides conduit assemblies of substantial length that have an inner member disposed in an opening of a conduit member and connected to the interior of the conduit member. The inner member can serve to protect sensitive measuring equipment, such as optical sensors or well logging equipment, from damages, including damages incurred during deployment into subsurface environments, including oil and gas wells and oceans, while allowing for improved data collection by the equipment once deployed.
