Abstract:
An apparatus and method for skimming an upper liquid layer from a fluid body. A pond surface decanter and skimmer uses a floating platform and suspended plenum to draw an upper layer of liquid off of a lower liquid without removing the lower liquid. The skimmer may be used to separate a heavy and light liquid. The skimmer is useful in many applications such as removing rainwater from evaporation ponds.
