Philosophy:
The focus of our practice is treating gum disease with a laser and dental implants. We spend a great deal of time speaking with our patients so as to understand their needs, wants and concerns. For many individuals comfort is a major concern. We offer local anesthesia, nitrous, and IV sedation. For many patients comfort comes from a thorough understanding of their treatment options and their treatment
We treat gum disease with the Periolase laser. This method replaces cut and stitch gum surgery. It usually requires fewer visits and is less expensive than regenerative gum surgery.
A larghe part of our practice is also placing dental implants. We place over 500 implants per year and have treated many thousands of dental implant patients since 1991. Dr Scharf teaches dental implants to advanced graduate students at New York University.
