I moved to Pittsburgh from San Francisco in the Spring of 2001. It was quite a jolt leaving a city where a modest townhome was selling for $750,000 to a city where the same home could be purchased for less than $200,000. I realized that Pittsburgh is one of the last great cities where real estate is still affordable--so far. <br /><br />I bought my first rental property in Greenfield for $50,000, fixed it up, and rented it for $600/month. All before buying my first home! It's still a thrill to find the perfect property for a buyer, and to help sellers get top dollar for their homes or investment properties. <br /><br />A real estate transaction is always a big personal event. It has a lot of moving parts--sizing up a property, marketing it, negotiating the deal, and getting to the closing table all present unique challenges--and I enjoy assisting people with those challenges. Helping an individual evaluate the facets of a deal within their personal context can make all the difference between a frustrated client and a satisfied one.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a substrate holder adapted to immobilize a substrate relative to a platen or working surface of a scientific instrument such as, for example, a microarrayer apparatus. The substrate holder, in one embodiment, comprises a first plastic film interlayer in combination with the substrate and the platen, wherein the first plastic film interlayer is integrally interposed between the substrate and the platen. The present invention is also directed to a microarrayer apparatus that comprises an array substrate holder adapted to affix a substrate to a platen of the microarrayer apparatus. The present invention also provides methods for a affixing a substrate to a scientific instrument.
