Philosophy:
Therapy is a partnership. I am a deep listener, committed to following my clients as they ride the sometimes smooth, sometimes roller-coaster-like pathways of their lives. I sit beside them, a true companion on their trip, providing a sense of what it is like to be loved, seen, protected, and empowered. In the therapeutic relationship, I foster a dynamic, supportive environment in which my clients can deal creatively with present challenges, free themselves from self-defeating patterns, heal old wounds, retrieve lost parts of themselves, and grow into the fullest versions of themselves. I come to psychotherapy from a background in writing, teaching, and photography. Issues I treat include anxiety, depression, addictive behaviors, trauma recovery, and relationships. I treat children, adults, couples, and families, and have special expertise in working with the creatively gifted and with people interested in discovering/rediscovering their creative selves.
