Method And System For Locating Signal Jammers

US Patent:
8446310, May 21, 2013
Filed:
Jun 12, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/483729
Inventors:
Sarah E. Law - Denver CO, US
Charles A. Corwin - Lone Tree CO, US
David C. Fisher - Evergreen CO, US
Assignee:
Raytheon Company - Waltham MA
International Classification:
G01S 7/36
US Classification:
342 16, 342 13
Abstract:
In a method embodiment, a method includes receiving data generated at one or more monitor systems capable of monitoring for electromagnetic signals. The data is related to characteristics of a signal. The characteristics may include at least two of a respective power of the signal, a respective frequency of the signal, a time of arrival of the signal, and an angle of arrival the signal. A computing system automatically selects at least a subset of the received data. The selection is based at least partially on a physical condition at a location proximate to the monitor systems. The computing system calculates a location of a source of the signal at least in part by processing the subset of the received data. The method further includes determining that the first signal is jamming a second signal. The determination is based at least in part on the calculated location.

Nitrous Oxide Fuel Blend Monopropellants

US Patent:
2009013, May 28, 2009
Filed:
Nov 10, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/268266
Inventors:
Gregory Mungas - Arcadia CA, US
David J. Fisher - Denver CO, US
Christopher Mungas - Plymouth CA, US
Benjamin Carryer - Denver CO, US
Assignee:
Firestar Engineering, LLC - Broomfield CO
International Classification:
C06B 47/04
US Classification:
149 74
Abstract:
Compositions and methods herein provide monopropellants comprising nitrous oxide mixed with organic fuels in particular proportions creating stable, storable, monopropellants which demonstrate high ISP performance. Due to physical properties of the nitrous molecule, fuel/nitrous blends demonstrate high degrees of miscibility as well as excellent chemical stability. While the monopropellants are particularly well suited for use as propulsion propellants, they also lend themselves well to power generation in demanding situations where some specific cycle creates useable work and for providing gas pressure and/or heat for inflating deployable materials.

Scheduler

US Patent:
2006017, Aug 3, 2006
Filed:
Jan 28, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/045419
Inventors:
David Fisher - Evergreen CO, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/46
US Classification:
705008000
Abstract:
Provided is a method for scheduling activities. The method includes receiving an activity having a designated priority, a life span, a preferred implementation time, and a scheduling time budget. The schedule is searched to determine the availability of the preferred implementation time and amount of available execution time. The activity is inserted in the schedule if the preferred implementation time if the time is available and life span is less than or equal to available execution time. If the implementation time is unavailable or the life span is greater than the available execution time, the schedule is modified. Modification of the schedule preserves scheduled activities with equal or higher priority. The method will exit when the activity is scheduled or the elapsed scheduling time exceeds the scheduling time budget.
