Abstract:
An improved construction for pull-tab game pieces involves the use or two or more substrates, one of which is at least partially transparent. A thermosensitive imaging layer within which game results are direct thermally printed is located between the transparent substrate and an opaque cover layer through which the game results are printed. An opaque substrate precut to form one or more tabs covers the opposite side of the transparent substrate. The game results are revealed by retracting the tabs to view the game results through the transparent substrate.

A label-wrapped foam cup combines a label in the shape of an annular section with a foam cup having a frusto-conical shape by wrapping the label around a foam cup and securing the label to the foam cup with a patterned adhesive. Text and graphics are printed on a front surface of the labels and a patterned adhesive is printed on a back surface of the labels. The patterned adhesive includes discontinuous deposits of adhesive that bond the label to the foam cup and form corresponding undulations in the front surface of the label. The adhesive pattern can be printed in registry with the text and graphics to provide enhanced visual effects.

Abstract:
A product labeling system for overwrapping printed articles on products includes a web having product-labeling information being visible at an outer surface of the web. A succession of base substrates is positioned along the continuous length of the web, and a permanent adhesive bonds the base substrates to an inner surface of the web. Printable substrates are mounted on the succession of base substrates and are held in place by a temporary adhesive. Successive lengths of the web are separated into discrete sections and wrapped around products such that the product labeling information remains visible on the outside of the products and the printable substrates are located between the wrapped web sections and the products.
