Marine Safety Insignia

The Marine Safety Insignia is awarded to recognize the professional accomplishment of personnel in the Coast Guard's Marine Safety Program.
To receive the Marine Safety Insignia the member must earn four marine safety competencies. To earn the permanent version of the insignia, the member must also serve a cumulative five years at marine safety field units.
Coast Guard Unit Commendation

The Coast Guard Unit Commendation is the highest peacetime unit award that may be awarded to military commands of the United States Coast Guard.
The decoration is presented to members of any Coast Guard unit that distinguishes itself by valorous or extremely meritorious service, not involving combat, but in support of Coast Guard operations.
Global War on Terror Service Medal

The award recognizes those military service members who have performed service in the War on Terror from September 11, 2001 on.
Eligible service members must be or have been assigned, attached, or mobilized to a unit participating in or serving in direct support of specified Global War on Terrorism operations (e.g., NOBLE EAGLE, LIBERTY SHIELD, NEPTUNE SHIELD, PORT SHIELD, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, or Area Commander-designated GWOT operations) for 30 consecutive or 60 cumulative days.
Special Operations Service Ribbon
The award is authorized for certain acts of non-combat meritorious service, for which no other service medal or ribbon is authorized. The four main areas of eligibility, for the presentation of the Special Operations Service Ribbon, are listed as follows:
Coast Guard operations of a special nature involving multiple agency involvement pertaining to national security or law enforcement.
Coast Guard operations of a special nature in support of special events drawing large media interest and public attention.
Coast Guard operations or involvement with foreign government in all areas of saving life and property at sea.
Coast Guard operations of assistance for friendly and/or developing nations.
