During my career, I have always tried to focus on functional treatment strategies. I incorporate materials and activities that are readily available to most families. Because I see children in their homes, I can help parents and caregivers enhance their child's communication skills in a safe and familiar environment. Focusing on a child's natural environment fosters quicker progress, better carryover of skills to everyday activities and encourages families to be active participants in their child's therapy.
