While my focus is Addiction Medicine with co-occuring psychiatric disorders, I also have 10 yrs experience in medical management of chronic pain. To help patients achieve optimal health, I encourage patients to attend to their physical, mental, and spiritual needs. I believe that achieving optimal health requires a collaborative relationship with the patient, with me in the role of counselor, while willing to learn from them. Long ago, I coined the phrase "Health Care begins with Self-care".
