Dr. Bui is a New Orleans native returning to Ochsner following his training. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Science Center School of Medicine. Dr. Bui went on to complete a General Surgery Internship at University of California San Francisco. His Neurosurgery Residency was completed at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Bui completed his Pediatric Neurosurgery Fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Alabama Birmingham in Birmingham. Dr. Bui's areas of interest include: cranial expertise: endoscopy, minimally invasive cranial procedures, complex shunting and oncology. Treatment of the following cranial diseases: tumors, hydrocephalus (including normal pressure hydrocephalus), chiari malformation, seizure disorders, hematomas (acute & chronic), cranial cysts, and trigeminal neuralgia. His spinal expertise includes spinal instrumentation, tethered cord, spinal tumors and syrinx, spasticity. Treatment of these spinal diseases: degenerative disease of cervical and lumbar spine, spinal fractures, spinal tumors, cerebral palsy spasticity, spinal syrinx, tethered cord, and spinal infections. He also treats carpal tunnel syndrome. For Pediatric patients: Dr. Bui's areas of cranial expertise include: endoscopy, minimally invasive cranial procedures, complex shunts, oncology and chiari malformations.
