A system includes a receiver, a printer, and a corresponding controller to accommodate non-cash wagering while also providing a convenient process for use of currency and coins. As one function, the receiver accommodates the receipt and recognition of paper currency. The denomination of the paper currency is identified, and communicated to control circuitry so that it can be converted to point tokens. The printer will then generate a point token useable for play of the gaming device. Similarly, the system may have a coin receiver for receipt/identification of coins and the subsequent generation of corresponding point tokens. To accommodate play of the gaming machine, the receiver is capable of receiving and recognizing point tokens and applying credits on a related gaming machine. Once the point tokens are recognized and credits have been applied, the user can then proceed with the play of the gaming machine using the applied credits.

The present invention relates to a system and method for integrating player tracking and cash access in a casino or other gaming environment. One aspect of the invention allows for fund access and management wherein gaming machines, such as slot machines or on-line virtual gaming machines, receive playable credits directly from a patron's banking or credit card account. Another aspect of the present invention relates to integrating player tracking and cash access transactions by allowing the players to provide a player tracking card for each financial transaction conducted in a gaming environment. In return, the casino issues gaming or bonus points to the players for allowing their transactions to be tracked. Yet another aspect of the present invention consolidates the players' financial account information into a single casino database. Players can subsequently credit or debit cash from the players' financial accounts using any associated customer identification cards or otherwise receive such credits in other forms that permit negotiations, including quasi-cash documents.

An incentive system is provided which includes the coordinated operation of at least one automated customer service device, an incentives program management system and a tangible reward awarding device, wherein a user is automatically awarded a tangible award if certain criteria or activity is carried out and identified by the incentives program system. Through appropriate communication, the incentives program management system can identify predetermined user activities or criteria based upon a user's interaction with an automated customers service device, and then trigger a tangible reward device to award a predetermined tangible award to the user. In this manner, tangible rewards can be awarded to users at a location having the automated customer service device and an associates reward device without the need for interaction by an employee.
