Upper Cervical Adjustments (Spinal Correction) Upper cervical means the top of the neck. The Atlas (C1) and Axis (C2) are most often used vertebrae to gently reposition the head relative to the body. This correction creates a "domino" effect in the downward direction(with gravity). Twisting or popping the spine is rarely used in practice. The rest of the body is corrected as well, including muscle spasms, etc. However the farther from the brain the area is, the less priority is given.
