Junction Cover For Photovoltaic Panel Modules

US Patent:
2012000, Jan 12, 2012
Filed:
Jul 12, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/180955
Inventors:
Christopher Stephen Klinga - Boulder CO, US
Scott Franklin - Nederland CO, US
International Classification:
H01L 31/0203
US Classification:
136251
Abstract:
A junction cover for a photovoltaic (PV) panel module system that includes a PV panel mounting structure, a rail, a PV module with a junction box and wiring extending between the rail and the junction box. The junction cover encloses the wiring and includes a base section, a nose section and a pair of feet. The base section includes a plate with first and second side walls extending downwardly therefrom to first and second edges to define an interior with an interior surface. The nose section extends from the base section to an open end and has a top wall, two sides formed by the side walls of the base section and an open side. The feet are located on either side of the open end of the nose section and extend therefrom. The feet engage the rail to secure the junction cover in place to enclose the junction box and wiring.

Photovoltaic Module Mounting System

US Patent:
2013016, Jun 27, 2013
Filed:
Jun 29, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/538818
Inventors:
Christopher Stephen Klinga - Boulder CO, US
Assignee:
LUMOS LSX, LLC - Boulder CO
International Classification:
H01L 31/042, F16M 13/02
US Classification:
248201, 4031091
Abstract:
A photovoltaic (“PV”) module mounting system including a standoff adapted to be secured to a support surface, the standoff having an elongate channel formed along a length thereof. A rail attachment member has a portion disposed in the channel. The rail attachment member is positionably adjustable along the length of the rail. An elongate rail is securable to the standoff by the rail attachment member. The position of the rail is adjustable along the length of the standoff and fixedly secured. The elongate rail has a slot extending along a length thereof. The slot accommodates PV panel mounting hardware therein for securing a PV panel to the rail.
