These achievements enabled 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion to achieve an overall mission capable inspection grade by the Commanding Inspecting General. HM3 Barnes' initiative, perseverance, and total dedication to duty reflected credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service."
