Philosophy:
The journey of psychological care begins and completes with trust. As a person begins to work with their psychotherapist it is a time of discovery for both the person and the therapist. The complex patterns of interwoven thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and behaviors can often feel overwhelming. Yet, over time, a person can learn new ways of understanding their difficult situation. Many times, wholesome solutions just show up in the middle of therapy. This is not to say that therapy is simple, or easy. In every therapeutic problem, I will walk with you during your journey and tell you what I see. You, in turn, get to decide what you will do and you will have my support. I will work to fully understand the presenting problems and offer empirically validated treatments that have been shown to work with many people in similar situations. This is not a one-size-fits-all approach to psychotherapy. If I do not feel that I have sufficient resources to meet your needs, I will tell you up front and provide you with a referral to another psychotherapist. The primary goal of my practice is to provide professional quality psychological services that address your needs and provide an opportunity to develop solutions to the challenges you face.
