The Department of Public Instruction named West Ridge Elementary School as a 2013-14 School Year Spotlight School for the State of Wisconsin for the school's documented expertise in Teaching & Learning as well as Leadership & Governance. With this designation comes a $50,000 grant that will be utilized to host schools visiting West Ridge, continue building classroom libraries, and International Baccalaureate training and curriculum writing.
