Our team placed first out of 27 teams in the school's senior design competition. In this program, student teams select a major design project from a company or not-for-profit organization and exploit all available resources in order to develop a solution for the project client. Our team worked with Pratt & Whitney, a worldwide leader in aircraft engine manufacturing, as the company outfitted their supply chain to accommodate the NGPF engine families.
Presentation to the Georgia Legislature
Representatives Ron Stephens, David Knight, and Mickey Channell
Delivered findings from my economic impact analysis of Pratt & Whitney's expansion of their Columbus, GA facility to members of the State Legislature at the Georgia Capitol Building. The presentation included general information about pitfalls and best practices involved in undertaking this type of analysis in order to aid the legislators in decisions that might bring new business to Georgia. Specifically, the material demonstrated how to forecast the impact that a new business activity in Georgia might have on the state's economy. The audience included the House Economic Development Committee, the Special Committee on Small Business Development and Job Creation, and the Ways and Means Committee, as well as various lobbyists and other interested committee members.
