Prosthetic Tissue Implant And Filler Therefor

Prosthetic Tissue Implant And Filler Therefor

US Patent:
6099565, Aug 8, 2000
Filed:
Jun 7, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/478277
Inventors:
Chester Y. Sakura - Albuquerque NM
International Classification:
A61F 212
US Classification:
623 8
Abstract:
A biologically compatible human breast implant is disclosed which has improved natural feel and is resistant to leakage. In the disclosed implant, a large quantity of small, pliable hollow spheroids of polymeric material are used as a filler within the implant shell. The hollow spheroids are partially filled with a fluid when in an uncompressed state, and provide a cushioning effect by being compressible to the point where the resulting reduction in the interior space causes the interior to become essentially filled by the fluid and where further compression is resisted due to the relative non-compressibility of the contained fluid. The described spheroids are made of silicone rubber and are partially filled with saline solution. The spheroids have an outside diameter of from about 1 mm to 5 mm, an outer wall thickness of about 75 to 225 microns, and the fluid contained therein is filled to about 80 to 90% of capacity when the spheroids are in their naturally uncompressed spherical state.

Water Saving Toilet Flushing System

Water Saving Toilet Flushing System

US Patent:
2002015, Oct 31, 2002
Filed:
Apr 25, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/842326
Inventors:
Chester Sakura - Albuquerque NM, US
International Classification:
E03D001/20
US Classification:
004/364000
Abstract:
A water saving toilet flushing system is disclosed having two substantially equally sized compartments contained within a single tank with each compartment containing a standard flush and fill control system including a water inlet connected to a water supply, a float control connected to the water inlet, a flush lever controlled by an exterior flush handle, and a flapper type outflow valve connected to the flush lever by a chain. The outflow of each compartment is through a Y-shaped outflow valve with one end in each compartment and an end connected to the toilet bowl. The compartments are sized such that the water from one compartment is sufficient to substantially remove liquid waste from the toilet bowl and each compartment is substantially similar in size so that either compartment may be used for the removal of liquid. Water from both compartments used together will substantially remove solids from the bowl. Accordingly, water consumption is reduced from that of a toilet using a standard tank.

Anastomosis Device And Method

Anastomosis Device And Method

US Patent:
4214587, Jul 29, 1980
Filed:
Feb 12, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/011448
Inventors:
Chester Y. Sakura - Albuquerque NM
International Classification:
A61B 1704
US Classification:
128334R
Abstract:
A preferred embodiment of the anastomosis device comprises a cylindrical, radially resilient spring upon which is attached a number of outwardly extending barbs. The radial spring action significantly simplifies the anastomosis procedure and in addition allows the mended portion of the blood vessel to pulsate in a fashion similar to that of the pulsatile action of an unmended vessel. The barbs attach the device to the blood vessel thus maintaining its position securely. The disclosed anastomosis device is recommended for rejoining small blood vessels where a simple, reliable alternative to micro-suturing techniques is desirable. In the anastomosis method of the present invention a cylindrical, radially resilient spring is compressed and placed about one end of a vessel. The second end of the vessel is then placed about the spring and the compression is released.

Tissue Lifting Device And Method

Tissue Lifting Device And Method

US Patent:
7850700, Dec 14, 2010
Filed:
May 19, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/848698
Inventors:
Chester Y. Sakura - Albuquerque NM, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/04, A61B 17/12, A61L 17/00
US Classification:
606144, 606228
Abstract:
A surgical apparatus with an insertion tool and fixation device for lifting or remodeling soft tissue as described. A combination of a fixation device and insertion tool allows for incremental release and engagement of the fixation device, which is supplied with prongs to grasp the soft tissue and hold on the other end to allow suture lifting of the soft tissue. The careful deployment of the fixation device and the manipulation and tension on the insertion tool allows a gradual, adjustable, and uniform lifting of the soft tissue that are to be remodeled.

Exsanguination Device And Method

Exsanguination Device And Method

US Patent:
2005026, Nov 24, 2005
Filed:
May 19, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/848692
Inventors:
Chester Sakura - Albuquerque NM, US
International Classification:
A61B017/00
US Classification:
606201000
Abstract:
A device for exsanguinating blood from the hand is described. In one embodiment, the device includes a core and a grip that encloses the core. The grip covers a first portion of the core. The grip is shaped to conform to the human hand. The other portion of the core defines a slot. Wrapping material is passed through the slot and attached to the device at the slot. Then the wrapping material is wrapped around the hand and device to exsanguinate the blood from the hand for surgery. In one embodiment, the wrapping material is an elastic flexible wrap.
