Philosophy:
Cheryl received her BSW from Salem State College in 1986 and her Master's in Social Work from Boston University in 1987. Over the years she has worked in both clinical and administrative capacities. These have included a therapeutic foster care program, school-based therapist battered women's program and a mental health clinic. Cheryl is the former Program Director for a home-based treatment program in Lowell and Farmer Program Director for a Battered Women's Program in Somerville. Since April of 1998 she has been a full-time therapist at Psychotherapy Associates of North Reading. She provides individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy to adults, adolescents and children. Her specialties include anxiety and panic disorders in children and adults, child and adolescent behavior problems, trauma treatment with adults and children, grief and loss with adults and children. Cheryl's therapeutic approach comes from several sources. The primary emphasis is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
