Hierarchical Modular Software Packages And Associated Development Tool

US Patent:
7814460, Oct 12, 2010
Filed:
Jul 13, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/457228
Inventors:
Charles B. Bucklew - Sunrise FL, US
Michael Hak - Coral Springs FL, US
Assignee:
Scriptlogic Corporation - Boca Raton FL
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
US Classification:
717109, 717105, 717106, 717125
Abstract:
A hierarchical modular software development tool provides a graphical user interface to allow development of hierarchical module software components. The software development tool allows graphical creation of a software component processing hierarchy and then generates a software component using this specified processing hierarchy. The packages developed using this tool are able to include event modules that allow sub-branches of the software component processing hierarchy to be executed without requiring processing of modules of the software component hierarchy that precede the event nodes. Further nodes that are able to be included in the processing hierarchy include action nodes, that contain operational software, and conditional nodes that allow condition testing and conditional execution of processing branches.

Event-Based Application For Performing Configuration Changes In A Networked Environment

US Patent:
2005000, Jan 6, 2005
Filed:
Nov 4, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/700616
Inventors:
Brian Styles - Coral Springs FL, US
Charles Bucklew - Plantation FL, US
Assignee:
ScriptLogic Corporation - Boca Raton FL
International Classification:
G06F015/173
US Classification:
709223000
Abstract:
A system, a computer readable medium and a method in a client-server environment, to manage a configuration of resources on client systems. This includes receiving one or more predetermined events along with one or more local run-time environmental conditions along with one or more user selectable settings. The events, the settings and the environmental conditions are previously set graphically using a graphical user interface with one or more user selectable selections therein on a server. These events, local run-time environmental conditions along with settings are delivered to a client system. A monitoring agent on the client system is used to detect when one or more predetermined events occur. When an event occurs, a test is made to determine if one or more local run-time environmental conditions are met, and if the conditions are met then the agent automatically applies one or more selectable configuration settings on the client system.

Access Based File System Directory Enumeration

US Patent:
2007002, Jan 25, 2007
Filed:
Jul 20, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/186320
Inventors:
Brian Styles - Coral Springs FL, US
Charles Bucklew - Sunrise FL, US
Assignee:
ScriptLogic Corporation - Boca Raton FL
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707002000
Abstract:
A filtered directory listing system includes a request interface that receives, from a process associated with a user that has a defined set of data object access permissions, a file system directory listing request for a directory stored within an NTFS type file system. The filtered directory listing system further includes a file system interface that receives a file system directory listing for the directory and a directory listing entry processor that determines at least one entry within the file system directory listing, where each of the at least one entry is for a data object to which the user is prohibited access. The filtered directory listing system also includes a filtered directory listing generator that generates a response that consists of the filtered file system directory listing for the directory, where the filtered file system directory listing consists of the file system directory listing with at least one entry removed therefrom.

Validation Of Configuration Settings Prior To Configuration Of A Local Run-Time Environment

US Patent:
7353262, Apr 1, 2008
Filed:
Nov 4, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/700617
Inventors:
Brian Styles - Coral Springs FL, US
Charles B. Bucklew - Plantation FL, US
Assignee:
ScriptLogic Corporation - Boca Raton FL
International Classification:
G06F 15/177, G06F 15/16
US Classification:
709221, 709203, 709220, 709222, 709228, 370255
Abstract:
A system, a computer readable medium and a method in a client-server environment, to manage a configuration of resources on client systems. This includes receiving one or more predetermined events along with one or more local run-time environmental conditions including wildcard characters along with one or more user selectable settings. The events, the settings and the environmental conditions are previously set graphically using a graphical user interface with one or more user selectable selections therein on a server. These events, local run-time environmental conditions along with settings are delivered to a client system. A monitoring agent on the client system is used to detect when one or more predetermined events occur including if the client system is a portable computer as opposed to a desktop computer. When an event occurs, a test is made to determine if one or more local run-time environmental conditions, which includes the wildcard character, are met, and if the conditions are met then the agent automatically applies one or more selectable configuration settings on the client system.
