Exhaust Recycle To Carburetor Of An Internal Combustion Engine

US Patent:
4437447, Mar 20, 1984
Filed:
Sep 23, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/421896
Inventors:
Charles R. Johnson - Aurora OH
International Classification:
F02M 2506
US Classification:
123568
Abstract:
A hot slipstream from the exhaust of an internal combustion engine is used directly, that is without valving it, to heat and vaporize fuel as it is sprayed from the fuel nozzle of a carburetor having a booster venturi above the throttle plate, provided the ratio of the volume of slipstream to the volume of exhaust gases is self-regulated within narrow limits at all times during the engine's operation, in accordance with the physical considerations governing gas flow. The main jets of a conventional carburetor may be changed to provide decreased flow of gasoline by about 10% to give better mileage without sacrificing performance of the engine, and without adversely affecting the exhaust emissions which are otherwise controlled by a conventional emission control system.

Anti-Theft Locking Apparatus For Steering Wheels

US Patent:
5024069, Jun 18, 1991
Filed:
Aug 16, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/568216
Inventors:
Edwin J. Hull - South Euclid OH
Charles R. Johnson - Aurora OH
International Classification:
B60R 2502
US Classification:
70209
Abstract:
A lock apparatus for locking the steering wheel of a vehicle includes an elongate member, a pair of hook members fixedly secured to one end of the elongate member, and a lock assembly pivotally mounted on the elongate member. The lock assembly pivots to a locking position where it cooperates with the hook members to secure the steering wheel of a vehicle between it and the hook members and away from the locking position to release the steering wheel. The opposite end of the elongate member engages the seat, door panel or other portion of the passenger compartment of a vehicle proximate the steering wheel.

Motorcycle Dolly

US Patent:
7325816, Feb 5, 2008
Filed:
Jun 8, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/147939
Inventors:
Charles Richard Johnson - Aurora OH, US
International Classification:
B62H 3/04
US Classification:
280 794, 280 7911, 280 797, 211 20, 211 24
Abstract:
A motorcycle dolly is provided for supporting a front wheel or rear wheel of a motorcycle or other similar two-wheel vehicle on a work surface. The motorcycle dolly includes a frame, a wheel support platform carried by the frame, a plurality of casters attached to the frame, and a first clamping member and a second clamping member pivotably attached to the frame. The wheel support platform selectively receives either the front wheel or rear wheel thereon, and the plurality of casters support the motorcycle dolly for movement on the work surface. The first clamping member and second clamping member can be selectively pivoted with respect to one another to clamp either the front wheel or rear wheel therebetween. As such, when either the front wheel or rear wheel is securely retained between the first clamping member and second clamping member on the motorcycle dolly, the motorcycle can be repositioned using the motorcycle dolly.
