Charles McKnight provides the highest level of personalized service to his clients. He has refined his skills for accountability, time management, problem-solving and effective communication gathered in part from his background as a high school varsity and AAU basketball coach. Charles graduated from Ramapo College of NJ in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Charles was a member of the Ramapo College men’s basketball team from 1989-1993. In 1991, the team that reached the Division III final four in Springfield, OH and finished 4th in the nation. Charles was awarded the Most Improved Player Award by the Ramapo College men’s basketball coaching staff after the 1992 season and was named a senior tri-captain during the 1993 season. Charles also served as the sports director for WRPR, the campus radio station in 1994. Prior to embarking in a career in Real Estate, Charles spent the last 15 years as an elementary school teacher and disciplinarian. Charles taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grade in Hackensack NJ. In addition, Charles was a Home School Liaison at Fairmount Elementary School in Hackensack NJ. Charles created an after-school math tutorial program for 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students that helped the school pass the NJ ASK, New Jersey’s state wide standardized assessment. As the Home School Liaison/Disciplinarian, Charles was instrumental in reducing school wide discipline referrals by 75%. Charles was an active member of the Fairmount School PTA and helped the PTA raise over $120,000 for a new playground. Charles taught 1st grade at KIPP Legacy Prep Houston, TX. Charles’ student results were among the best in the school for math and spelling. Charles earned a master’s degree in Educational leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2006 with a 3.7 GPA. Charles holds a teacher and principal certification. Charles was the head varsity girls basketball coach at Hackensack High School from 2002-2011. He is the all-time leader in coaching victories in school history (103) which earned him membership into the Bergen County Century Club in 2011. After taking the helms of a Hackensack High School program that had only 2 winning seasons in 27 years, Charles led the program to 6 winning seasons in 10 years. During the historic 2010 season, the Lady Comets smashed school records for total points scored, 3 point field goals made, 2 point field goals made, points per game average and steals for a season. Hackensack also led the State of New Jersey in 3 point field goals made in a season for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Charles was instrumental in helping several players earn division I/II scholarships during his tenure. During the 2009-10 season, Jackie Marshall (Iona) was named the MSG (Madison Square garden Network) and The Record athlete of the week. She was the 1st Lady Comet to be named 1st Team All-County by the Bergen County Coached association. Jackie averaged 21 points per game and led the state of New Jersey with 95 made 3 point shots. Erin Moore (Wilmington College) was named 2nd Team All County and averaged 19 points per game including 60 made 3 point shots. Both young ladies were the 3rd and 4th 1000 point scorers in school history respectively. Charles has been married to Jill McKnight for 17 years and has 4 children. Charles loves to coach and play competitive basketball, travel, cook, mentor young people and spending quality time with his family.
