Charles Everett Pace, is one of our nation’s leading solo historical performers. His body of work explores how African American leaders have helped to advance democracy in America. Through performing and discussing the life, ideas and work of Frederick Douglass , W. E. B. Dubois , Langston Hughes and Malcolm X, Pace illustrates some of the successful strategies that Black leaders have used to overcome the obstacles of race in American society.
Pace is one of the touring artists with the Arkansas Arts Council’s Touring Artists program. This summer Pace will return as one of the Nevada Humanities Council’s Chautauqua scholars in Reno. He will also return as one of the Colorado Humanities Council’s Chautauqua scholars in Greeley, CO. .
On October 16, 2012, Pace once again was one of the featured Chautauqua performers at the second Presidential Debate between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney , at Hofstra University, Hempstead, New York .
