Single Port Random Access Memory Equipped With A Relief Module To Operate As A Dual Port Shared Memory

US Patent:
6771556, Aug 3, 2004
Filed:
Mar 13, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/097583
Inventors:
Charles Melvin Aden - Berkeley CA
Assignee:
Lucent Technologies Inc. - Murray Hill NJ
International Classification:
G06F 1316
US Classification:
36523004, 36523003, 36523005, 711149, 711 5, 711 2, 710 42, 710 43, 710111
Abstract:
The present relief module equipped random access memory avoids the need for enforced idle cycles for the processors, thereby enabling the State Machine to operate at its maximum speed. This relief module equipped random access memory also enables the Central Processing Unit to access the data in the single-port Random Access Memory as required to read and write the data contained therein. This is accomplished by the addition of a single-port Random Access Memory module to the plurality of Random Access Memory modules that are typically specified for a particular application. The extra Random Access Memory module alternates its output with each of the others of the plurality of Random Access Memory modules, on a sequential basis, thereby providing effectively extra clock cycles for each Random Access Memory module.

Methods And Systems For Color Management In Display Systems

US Patent:
2012012, May 24, 2012
Filed:
Jan 31, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/363209
Inventors:
Long YANG - Union City CA, US
Julia FAUCHILLE - San Francisco CA, US
Conrad DANTE - Oceanside CA, US
Charles Melvin ADEN - Berkeley CA, US
Assignee:
High Definition Integration, LTD - Grand Cayman
ROSSELLA LIMITED - Tortola
International Classification:
G06K 9/00
US Classification:
382167
Abstract:
A method of processing an input image includes receiving an input signal associated with the input image. The input signal includes a plurality of components. The method also includes determining a minimum component of the plurality of components and determining a white signal level as a function of the minimum component. The method further includes multiplying the white signal level by a normalized value computed using a component of the plurality of components to provide a scaled white signal level.

Flat Cable To Flat Parallel Wire Cable

US Patent:
5379005, Jan 3, 1995
Filed:
Jul 16, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/092721
Inventors:
Charles M. Aden - Berkeley CA
Martin H. Graham - Berkeley CA
Matthew Taylor - Pleasant Hill CA
Mark Miller - Oakland CA
Assignee:
Tut Systems, Inc. - Pleasant Hill CA
International Classification:
H03H 742
US Classification:
333 24R
Abstract:
A LAN which uses flat telephone cable having at least four conductors. The inner conductors are joined together and the outer conductors are joined together at each node thereby making reversals of the inner and outer conductors, which may occur at connectors, impossible. Each node uses two baluns to provide an unbalanced zone between the baluns for connecting to the DTE.

Enhanced Collision Detection For Ethernet Network

US Patent:
5450594, Sep 12, 1995
Filed:
Dec 22, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/172489
Inventors:
Charles M. Aden - Berkeley CA
Martin H. Graham - Berkeley CA
Assignee:
Tut Systems, Inc. - Pleasant Hill CA
International Classification:
H04Q 120
US Classification:
39520006
Abstract:
Enhanced collision detection in an Ethernet network, particularly useful for passive nodes using receive mode collision detection. When a transmitting node detects a collision, for example, using transmit mode collision detection, it activates a current sink at the node further reducing the DC potential on the line. This reduced DC potential assists in overcoming the low frequency impedance which may exist between the transmitting node and a remotely located passive node.
