Upholstered Seating Furniture Having Backrest Provided With Occupant's Upper-Body-Conforming Capability

US Patent:
5292180, Mar 8, 1994
Filed:
Dec 11, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/989142
Inventors:
Charles Schneider - Omaha NE
International Classification:
A47C 702
US Classification:
29745252
Abstract:
The prior art discloses upholstered seating furniture having a forwardly positioned horizontal seat and a rearwardly positioned backrest (both intersected by a vertical central-plane) and which backrest includes parallel sidemembers provided with a primary-array of horizontally extending and forwardly-convex metallic springs. Herein is a novel disclosure of a secondary-array of secondary-springs that is attached to and extend convexly forwardly of the primary-array and forwardly covered with resiliently-compressive padding (hingeably existing along the vertical central-plane) whereby the paired secondary-array and padding together rearwardly flex whenever a seated occupant recumbently leans rearwardly toward the cooperating secondary-array and padding. Accordingly, the recumbently rearwardly leaning seated occupant experiences an upper-body cradling upper-body-conforming capability afforded by the concommittantly rearwardly-flexible team of secondarily-arrayed secondary-springs and frontal padding means therefor.

Cushioned Upholstery Material

US Patent:
4384541, May 24, 1983
Filed:
May 7, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/261660
Inventors:
Charles Schneider - Omaha NE
International Classification:
D05B 9700, B32B 708
US Classification:
112421
Abstract:
For high quality handcrafted furniture, cushioned upholstery (comprising a field of padded chambers respectively delineated by attractive deep channels) provides a luxurious external appearance. Cushioned upholstery material of the prior art is traditionally of the "discretely individually stuffable pockets" type. The cushioned upholstery material described herein differs markedly from the prior art in that pocket means is unnecessary, but rather, a relatively broad and thick piece of laminar resiliently compressible foam sheeting is stitchably incorporated into a plurality (and possibly even all) of the field padded chambers, the stitching rows also providing improved deep channel delineations for the resultant multi-chambered cushioned upholstery material.

Frameless Foam Base For Upholstered Seating Furniture And Method

US Patent:
4436343, Mar 13, 1984
Filed:
Nov 20, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/323190
Inventors:
Charles Schneider - Omaha NE
International Classification:
A47C 718, A47C 724
US Classification:
297456
Abstract:
Upholsterable base for seating furniture comprises a plurality of very low-density and light-weight foam panels including a pair of upright arm-panels and at least one intervening-panel wherein inter-panels angularity is maintained with opposed "angleiron-type" stiffener connections provided by flexible fabric sheeting adhered to the meeting foam panels. Thus, non-resilient inflexible framework is unnecessary for maintaining the armrests and backrest upright and perpendicular to each other. The fabric sheeting type stiffener connections are of low airflow permeability so as to prevent foam panel decompression by the seated occupant, though such stiffener connections are located below the armresting top-edge so as to enhance occupant comfort.

Automated Process For Handling Bales For Pellet Production

US Patent:
2012002, Feb 2, 2012
Filed:
Aug 19, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/213629
Inventors:
JAMES RUSSELL ZEECK - Gretna NE, US
CHARLES J. SCHNEIDER - Omaha NE, US
Assignee:
PELLET TECHNOLOGY LLC - Gretna NE
International Classification:
B02C 23/00
US Classification:
241 25
Abstract:
An automated system and method are provided for conveying plant material bales. The system and method retrieves stacked bales from a storage site and places the bales on a conveyor assembly line, wherein the bales are indexed, accumulated, and metered for discharge into a bale shredder. Once the bales are on the conveyor assembly, the bales are automatically moved and arranged without manual intervention.
