Quito, Ecuador Immersion Program July 2011
EBS Healthcare provided me the incredible opportunity to participate in a language immersion program. I traveled to Quito, Ecuador for three weeks to learn Spanish and work attended Spanish classes, and worked with Ecuadorian teachers/caregivers to develop diagnostic tools and therapy materials. I demonstrated diagnostic practices and provided skilled interventions to address language needs. Through this experience, I embraced their culture and enhanced my Spanish speaking skills, while sharing therapy practices and techniques that were used in the states.
