Philosophy:
Dr. Lira grew up in Peru, South America; He received his Medical degree from San Agustin University in Arequipa, Peru. He then went on to study Exercise Physiology in Brazil (University of Rio Grande do Sul) and then in Barcelona, Spain where he completed a year on cardiology training in Valle de Hebron Hospital/University of Barcelona. He then moved to Providence, RI where he completed his Residency on Internal Medicine in Memorial Hospital/Brown University. Right after completion of his training, Dr. Lira was offered and accepted a position as Junior Faculty at Brown and after starting in private practice he became a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Brown University, School of Medicine.
For many years, besides running his own successful practice, Dr. Lira was teaching Medical students and Residents in Brown. In 2002, Dr. Lira decided to move to South Florida and Joined MSPB. He currently continues to be very successful in his office in Lake Worth.
Dr. Lira is currently Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and a member of The American College of Physicians. He has extensive training and experience in diagnosis and treatment of the majority of illnesses in adults and the geriatric population, with special interest and focus on preventive medicine.
Dr. Lira is very happy in South Florida, not only for the weather but especially because he is able to deal and treat patients of different background and cultures. He perfectly communicates in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
