Burner Monitoring System

US Patent:
4520390, May 28, 1985
Filed:
Aug 25, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/411224
Inventors:
Candelario Paredes - Dallas TX
William D. Stevens - North Caldwell NJ
Assignee:
Forney Engineering Company - Carrollton TX
International Classification:
H04H 718
US Classification:
358108
Abstract:
A burner monitoring system in which an array of burners are viewed by a video camera adapted to produce a video signal representing the infrared image of the burner array. The video processing electronics processes the video signal to determine which of the burners is lit and which of the burners is unlit by the presence or absence of hot spots in the infrared image. The video processing electronics generates a video signal which is applied to a cathode ray tube device to generate a visual indication for each of the burners indicating the lit or unlit condition of each of the burners.

Seat And Cover Assembly For A Toilet Bowl

US Patent:
4342124, Aug 3, 1982
Filed:
Sep 24, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/190374
Inventors:
Candelario Paredes - Dallas TX
International Classification:
A47K 1300, A47K 1312
US Classification:
4234
Abstract:
A seat and cover assembly for a toilet bowl including a seat member and a cover member pivotally mounted to a mounting block for movement relative to the bowl between an upright position and a lowered position. Springs are provided for biasing the seat member and the cover member into an abutting relationship in both the upright and lower positions of the members, and a magnetic latch assembly quick-releasably secures the cover member in its upright position.

Industrial Control System

US Patent:
4347563, Aug 31, 1982
Filed:
Jun 16, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/159597
Inventors:
Candelario Paredes - Dallas TX
Billy R. Slater - Plano TX
Assignee:
Forney Engineering Company - Carrollton TX
International Classification:
G06F 1546, G06F 1100
US Classification:
364137
Abstract:
In an industrial control system, a plurality of remote data processing units communicate with one another over a communications link. Some of the processing units called primary remotes have inputs and outputs and control a process operation in response to signals received on the inputs by signals transmitted over the outputs. One or more of the remote processing units, referred to as a redundant remote, monitors a plurality of the other primary remotes to determine whether any of the monitored primary remotes has failed. If any of the primary remotes fails, the redundant remote takes over operation of the process controlled by the failed primary remote by sending instructions and commands over the communications link interconnecting the primary and redundant remotes.

Silo Level Measuring System

US Patent:
3981195, Sep 21, 1976
Filed:
Jul 21, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/597936
Inventors:
Ross H. Forney - Renner TX
Candelario Paredes - Dallas TX
Assignee:
Forney Engineering Company - Carrollton TX
International Classification:
G01F 2320
US Classification:
73296
Abstract:
A system is provided for measuring the level of bulk material in a silo utilizing load cells responsive for determining total load. The silo is constructed with a separated upper storage portion and lower hopper portion with a flexible connecting seal so that the response of the load cells is independent of the weight of the storage section. The interior surfaces of the silo may be coated with an anti-friction material, such as material sold under the Registered Trademark TEFLON, and the silo surfaces have walls tapering outwardly towards the seal so as to reduce the possibility of bridging and jamming of the stored bulk material.
