I am a licensed psychologist treating adult mood disorders, anxiety disorders, health-related stress, career and work problems and relationship difficulties. I work from a psychoanalytic and interpersonal perspective. My approach is active and interactive. In addition to helping patients find relief from depression and anxiety, I have a particular focus on helping the person understand how his/her mind works so that experiences can be more fulfilling and internal life, more rich and meaningful. I work to recognize and build upon personal strengths, cultivate resilience, and enhance optimal functioning. In addition to psychotherapy, I offer psychoanalysis as an advanced candidate of the New Orleans-Birmingham Psychoanalytic Center. Psychoanalysis is an intensive form of psychotherapy. Ironically, psychoanalysis is the ideal treatment for psychologically sturdy people who, nevertheless, suffer from less than desired fulfillment and meaning in life.
