I have an understanding of the various organizations which provide healthcare services. Knowledge of provisions or pharmaceutical care in each organization, as well as the impact of third party payers and Medicare. I am fluent in the terminology and abbreviations I will be exposed to. I also am comfortable with pharmacy based computer technology and all other technologies utilized in a pharmacy setting, including but not limited to robotic prescription preparation and electronic mail. I am capable of utilizing a representative ambulatory care system and institutional system in order to enter doctor orders, prescriptions, as well as updating patient information and manage the inventory of medication. I am familiar with the laws and ethical principles performed in a pharmacy practice. I have the mathematical skills to perform calculations specific to the preparation and distribution of medications including, decimals, roman numerals, fractions, metric system, apothecary system, conversions, ratio and proportions, dosage calculations, concentrations and dilution, allegations, flow rates, mill equivalents, TPN preparations and basic accounting operations. I have also been introduced to drug classifications. I have learned the fundamentals of sterile product preparation. Including laminar airflow technique technology, aseptic technique with potential solutions, as well as quality assurance and control measures utilized in the production of sterile products. I have actively participated in patient care using the ambulatory care knowledge acquired from classroom training.
