Method For Erecting A Facility Producing Electrical Energy From Wind

US Patent:
2013006, Mar 21, 2013
Filed:
Nov 12, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/674912
Inventors:
Brookes H. Baker - Fort Worth TX, US
International Classification:
E04H 12/20, E04H 12/34
US Classification:
5274517
Abstract:
A method for erecting a facility includes the steps of constructing initial tower panels on a foundation. Work platforms and guys are installed so that additional tower panels may be installed on top of the existing tower panels. The work platforms with guys may then be raised, so that the process may be repeated until tower section height is reached. Tower sections are them completed by the addition of peripheral trusses and permanent guys, and additional tower sections are constructed by repeating the process to reach the desired facility height. Lifting units including truss and rail systems and rotatable modules with turbines in shrouds are assembled on the ground, then raised up the towers and operably mounted for generating electricity from wind. The erection process is sequenced to maintain structural integrity.

Facility For Producing Electrical Energy From Wind

US Patent:
2011030, Dec 15, 2011
Filed:
Jun 15, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/161471
Inventors:
Brookes H. Baker - Fort Worth TX, US
International Classification:
H02P 9/04, F03D 9/00
US Classification:
290 44, 290 55
Abstract:
A facility for producing electrical energy has a plurality of shrouds, a plurality of wind turbines, a power system, a plurality of modules, a pivotal mounting system, and a support structure. Each shroud has a throat which increases the velocity of the prevailing wind passing through the shroud. The plurality of wind turbines are each operably positioned in the throat of one of the plurality of shrouds. The power system is adapted for converting mechanical energy from the plurality of wind turbines to electrical energy. The support tower includes a central tower for supporting the shrouds and wind turbines above the surface, and may further include peripheral towers, guys, and/or other structural components.

Method For Erecting A Facility For Producing Electrical Energy From Wind

US Patent:
2011030, Dec 15, 2011
Filed:
Jul 22, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/189454
Inventors:
Brookes H. Baker - Fort Worth TX, US
International Classification:
E04H 12/20, E04H 12/34
US Classification:
5274517, 527452
Abstract:
A method for erecting a facility for producing electrical energy from wind has the steps of preparing a site to receive the facility, including constructing foundations, and erecting an initial core tower panel and initial peripheral tower sections on their respective foundations. Work platforms and temporary guys are installed so that another core tower panel and other peripheral tower sections may be installed on top of the existing tower sections. The work platforms may then be raised, so that the process may be repeated. Shroud sectors are assembled as needed to form shrouds.
