US Patent:
2006009, May 4, 2006
Filed:
Feb 25, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/066633
Inventors:
Brian Sauer - Kansas City MO, US
International Classification:
C12Q 1/68, C07H 21/04, C12N 1/21, C12N 5/06, C12N 1/18
US Classification:
435006000, 435252300, 435254200, 435325000, 536024300, 536025320
Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel reporter gene assay. In particular, the present invention provides a histochemical reporter gene assay employing α--arabinofuranosidase in combination with a chromogenic α--arabinofuranosidase substrate. The α--arabinofuranosidase histochemical reporter assay may be utilized to characterize gene regulatory regions of interest either alone or in combination with other assays.

Dre Recombinase And Recombinase Systems Employing Dre Recombinase

US Patent:
7915037, Mar 29, 2011
Filed:
Jul 7, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/217727
Inventors:
Brian L. Sauer - Kansas City MO, US
Jeffrey McDermott - Mission KS, US
Assignee:
Stowers Institute for Medical Research - Kansas City MO
International Classification:
C12N 15/11, C12N 15/63
US Classification:
4353201, 536 231, 536 242, 536 241
Abstract:
The invention provides a Dre/rox recombinase system. In particular, the invention provides Dre polypeptides that can catalyze site-specific recombination at rox sites but not at lox sites. The Dre/rox system can be utilized in a number of genetic manipulations either alone or in combination with other recombinase systems.

Cre/Lox System With Lox Sites Having An Extended Spacer Region

US Patent:
2006001, Jan 19, 2006
Filed:
Dec 15, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/012522
Inventors:
Brian Sauer - Kansas City MO, US
Vladislav Petyuk - Kansas City MO, US
International Classification:
C12N 9/22
US Classification:
435199000
Abstract:
The invention provides a novel Cre/lox system with lox sites having an extended spacer region. In particular, the invention provides Cre mutant polypeptides that can catalyze site-specific recombination at lox sites typically having from one to three additional base pairs in the spacer region. The Cre/lox system can be utilized in a number of genetic manipulations either alone or in combination with other recombinase systems.
