Midwives are committed to empowering women to take an active role in their heath care, and helping clients to make informed decisions. Babies are born at Holy Spirit Hospital - you can choose to use medications during your delivery, or go without. CNMs listen, and work with your needs and preferences. Midwives are held to the same standards of safe practice as are obstetricians. There is always a physician on call with the midwife, and if more intervention is needed, the obstetrician may make recommendations, provide expert assistance, or take over care. Midwives and doctors at CWH take turns being on call for births. We have two offices, one in Camp Hill and one in Harrisburg.
