I have been a pediatrician for over 20 years and have raised 2 boys and a girl. Between my own kids and practice, I have pretty much been there or seen that. If a puzzled parent tells me an odd story, I often think about my own children growing up and what they would have done. Often a flash of insight strikes and I ask "Any chance your child has done such and such?". I've walked a crying child all night, cleaned up more vomit than I care to think about and yes, made quick get-aways from restaurant disasters. Though it all, I have learned many tricks to settle a newborn down, get a toddler to eat vegetables, and to help a child's stuffy nose. I prefer simple, natural ways to help a child feel better and teach parents how to handle common illnesses and problems until they feel confident to handle the day to day issues that come with parenting. I work hard to keep my patients healthy though check-ups, vaccines, and education, but when they do get sick, I'm here to help.
