Ability to find errors is my greatest strength, yet has been my greatest thorne, as nurses don't understand the concept of working together for the ultimate good of the patient; they become offended and defensive which makes working environments uncomfortable. Simple gratitude and moving on would be the appropriate reaction(which in over 35 years I have yet to see). Perhaps I need to find an attorney or state job finding errors for other reasons. It would certainly reduce my work stress level! I have not renewed my BLS instructor certification as it did not influence my ability to obtain work. My UR/PRI screening certification is permanent, but I have not done it "officially", however as most nurses know they are done by anyone willing to help out the responsible person, who then simply signs off on the paperwork. Hopefully they have been able to obtain all necessary data from the chart, as this is relevant to billing utilizing a number grading system to determine reimbursement from the state based on services rendered to the patient.
