Inventors:
Anthony A. Marnell - Las Vegas NV
Assignee:
Rio Hotel Casino, Inc. - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63F 922
US Classification:
273138A
Abstract:
An entertainment system for slot players in a gaming establishment includes video monitors and speaker/microphones located adjacent each slot machine in a defined area of a gaming establishment. An operator at a centrally located control station can selectively provide video programming from a menu of live and recorded sources to any monitor or group of monitors. Similarly, live or recorded audio can be provided to any of the speakers, or the operator can converse from the control station with any of the players via the speaker/microphones located at each machine. The control station has a variety of audio and video sources, including at least one VCR, an audio tape deck, at least one live camera operable remotely from the control station by the operator, and commercial television broadcasting (e. g. , CATV), as well as a live microphone Selection and transmission of signals from the various sources, as well as the destination slot locations, are accomplished by the use of separate computerized video and audio switching systems, each of which is conventional and commercially available. The communication system of the invention is entertaining for the players, and has resulted in players staying at machines considerably longer than at other machines not having this feature.

Intelligent Object Builder

US Patent:
2002008, Jun 27, 2002
Filed:
Oct 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
10/021661
Inventors:
Thomas Wucherer - Las Vegas NV, US
Cherisse Nicastro - Las Vegas NV, US
Anthony Marnell - Las Vegas NV, US
International Classification:
G06F007/00
US Classification:
707/102000
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system and method for linking computer aided design (CAD) elements with non-graphical information within a database. In one embodiment of the method the database receives and stores first CAD element data generated by a first computer system in data communication with the database. This first CAD element data represents a first CAD element displayable on a monitor of a computer system such as a CAD computer system. Thereafter, a link is created in the database between the stored first CAD element data and one of a plurality of component specifications stored in the database. Each of the plurality of component specifications comprises non-graphical descriptive data that may describe a component of a construction project. In one embodiment, the first computer system is coupled to the database via the Internet. In another embodiment, each of the component specifications include at least one database object.

Apparatus And Method For Playing An Electronic Poker Game

US Patent:
5332219, Jul 26, 1994
Filed:
Oct 8, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/957772
Inventors:
Anthony A. Marnell - Las Vegas NV
Cary A. Rehm - Las Vegas NV
Assignee:
Rio Properties, Inc. - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63F 100
US Classification:
273138A
Abstract:
An electronic poker game apparatus (10) including user-actuated input members (22) and an electronic game control device (42) electrically connected to input members (22) and responsive to user input to simulate play of a poker game. The game control device (42) generates a plurality of signals representing randomly selected cards from a deck of cards to create a poker hand. A bonus signal generator (52) electrically communicates with the game control device (42) and responds to the selection of a predetermined signal representing a predetermined card to randomly effect one of: (i) replacing the predetermined signal with a bonus signal and (ii) retaining the predetermined signal in accordance with odds less than unity. A display screen (16), which is electrically connected to the game control device (42), displays card symbols corresponding to the randomly selected signals and the bonus signal, if present, to indicate progress of the poker game.

Wheel Of Fortune Poker Game Apparatus And Method

US Patent:
5188363, Feb 23, 1993
Filed:
Dec 30, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/814434
Inventors:
Anthony A. Marnell - Las Vegas NV
Jayme D. Sevigny - Henderson NV
Cary A. Rehm - Las Vegas NV
Assignee:
Rio Properties, Inc. - Las Vegas NV
International Classification:
A63F 924, A63F 500, A63F 100
US Classification:
273 85CP
Abstract:
An electronic game apparatus (21) for play of a poker card game. The apparatus (21) includes a display assembly (22) having a plurality of card spaces (23) each representing one card in a deck of cards, preferably arranged in a wheel of fortune array. A plurality of lights (26) are positioned in the display for individually identifying each of the card spaces (23) upon lighting of the lights (26). Game control apparatus (28) including a random sequence generator (29) electrically connected to momentarily illuminate the lights (26) in a continuing random sequence so that the cards (23) are individually identified one after another in the random sequence. A user actuatable input selection button (33) is electrically connected to the game control (28) for interrupting the continuously random sequence to effect a card selection by continuously lighting the next light (26) to be lit in the random sequence. Poker criteria comparison memory (37) is provided so that selected cards can be compared and awards paid out to the player. Optionally a card discard apparatus (52, 53) can be coupled to the game controller (28).
