My clinical area of interest and training is in behavioral pediatric counseling and cognitive behavioral therapy. I use skills I have learned from a treatment approach called Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) to teach caregivers positive parenting and relationship-enhancing skills. PCIT also teaches behavior management strategies to manage disruptive behavior, aggression, and it promotes adhering to instructions and family home rules. This model has been extremely effective in my experience to assist families with every-day, real-life struggles. Additionally, I have completed training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral techniques, an empirically-supported treatment program to assist children and their non-offending parents during the process of healing.
